    We keep Jeep usage to a minimum, focusing instead on walking the ancient paths of the desert. Nights are spent at our authentic camp to keep the cost low and the experience genuine.

Day One: The Journey Begins
  • Upon arrival, you will meet your guide and get organized for the adventure ahead.
    When ready, you will begin hiking directly from Rum Village, visiting key sites along the way before spending your first night at our camp.
  • At each site, you are free to hike, scramble, and explore at your own pace:
  • Lawrence Spring
    Walk among rocks and boulders to find the water source, shaded by a welcoming fig tree. In the springtime, the air is rich with the scent of wild herbs.
    From here, the view across Wadi Rum is legendary—one that has inspired travelers for generations.
Day Two: Where the Red Meets the White

After breakfast at the camp, you will head east, hiking alongside your guide through a vast and breathtaking landscape where the red and white deserts meet and blend in an unforgettable embrace. Over the day, you will visit:

  • Um Frouth Arch
    A natural rock bridge sculpted by countless years of wind and water. For those feeling adventurous, you may scramble up to the top—if you have a head for heights—or simply admire its beauty from below.

  • Small Sand Dune
    From this dune, enjoy one of the most spectacular views, stretching across the vibrant red desert and into the soft hues of the white desert beyond. It is also the perfect spot for those joyful “jumping” photographs, capturing the spirit of your desert adventure.

  • The ‘Chicken’
    A curious two-legged rock formation standing proudly in a stunning location. Often, we pause here to enjoy the sunset, as it offers one of the finest vantage points for watching the sun dip behind the mountains. Since we travel by foot, sunset locations may vary depending on the pace and timing of the day’s journey.

After the day’s explorations, you will return once again to the tranquility of the camp, where a warm meal, starlit skies, and the embrace of the desert night await you.

Day Three: Through the Heart of the White Desert

After breakfast at the camp, you will set off on foot with your guide, hiking through the white desert and heading west and southwest through the Wadi Rum protected area. Over the course of the day, you will visit:

  • Harab Anta Cave
    This ancient cave was once the home of a man named Harab Anta, known for his great strength and wisdom. People would travel from distant places seeking his help in resolving their disputes. We will pause here for lunch, resting under the silent stories of the past, before hiking back to the camp along a different route to discover more hidden corners of the desert.

After the day’s hike, you will return to the camp, where dinner, the stars, and the peaceful desert night await you.

Practicalities

You only need to carry a small daypack with your water, some of the lunch items, and your camera.
Your main luggage will be transported to the camp each afternoon along with the food for dinner, and you can keep it safely in your private tent during your stay.

Options

The standard program is designed for 3 days and 3 nights. However, if you wish to enjoy the Pure Hiking / ECO / Budget Tour but have only 1 or 2 days available, you can easily adjust the program to fit your schedule:

  • 1 Day Hike
    This would follow the activities of Day One, including an overnight stay at the camp, and returning to the village the next morning after breakfast.

  • 2 Day Hike
    This would include the experiences from Day One and Day Two, along with overnight stays at the camp, and finishing on the third morning after breakfast.

When calculating the price, please refer to the section below based on the number of people in your group and the corresponding total per day.
From there, you can easily determine the cost for a 1-day or 2-day hike.

All prices are for private hiking tours and include:
A Bedouin hiking guide each day, 3 lunches, 3 nights at the camp (including breakfast and dinner).

  • 3 Adults
    50 JD per person per day
    Total (3 days): 450 JD (150 JD per person)

  • 4 Adults
    45 JD per person per day
    Total (3 days): 540 JD (135 JD per person)

  • 5 Adults
    40 JD per person per day
    Total (3 days): 600 JD (120 JD per person)

  • 6 Adults
    35 JD per person per day
    Total (3 days): 630 JD (105 JD per person)

Additional Notes

The 5 JD entrance fee to Wadi Rum is not included.
Drinks are included: bottled water during the trip, a soft drink or juice with lunch, and plenty of traditional Bedouin tea.
Hot water or unsweetened tea can also be provided if you prefer to make your own tea or coffee.

No tax is added. Tips are optional, but very much appreciated if you feel the guide has provided excellent service.

Children under 4 years: free of charge.

Tour Timing

  • Start: First day at 10:00 AM from Rum Village

  • Return: Last day after breakfast, depart around 7:30 AM, arriving back in Rum Village by 8:30 AM (Jeep transfer included in the price)
